Sandown is the location and V8 Supercars are the weapon of choice. Melbourne, the undisputed sporting capital of the world was once again woken by the roar of V8 hi-octane fun. The V8 Supercars had come to town as part of the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge, Round 13 and the 3rd to last race of the season. Put the pedal to the metal.
Tucked away in the far recesses of Moorabbin Airport sits a little unimposing building with a large propeller mounted front side. The building itself is not intended for flight but instead it is the celebration of classic aircraft, the Australian National Aviation Museum. On this weekend, the one weekend a year the Museums collection of aircraft are joined by an extensive collection of classic Automobiles, creating the Wings and Wheels exhibition. Cleverly able to combine their two passions in the one exhibition, Wings And Wheels presents a unique collection of restored classic and vintage automobiles on display amongst the many classic and modern aircraft of the Australian National Aviation Museum.

Every 2 years the paddocks around Avalon airport – 80km south of Melbourne – are converted into the most high tech cow paddock in the world. This years show – 2011 – was no exception, in fact many regular attendees have said this was the largest and most impressive show held at Avalon so far. The miles of static displays were enough to keep you busy all day but then there was an air show to see as well. Maybe one day at the show isn’t enough.
Crash Raw Media is excited to present two video’s produced in-house for your viewing pleasure. From the article “Recently the Melbourne Festival 2011 hosted a light show by renowned visual artists Electric Canvas. The show titled ‘Cacophony: The Art of Conflict”, made use of the two main buildings of the arts center complex as projection back drops for the 12 minute long show. Using the latest technology Electric Canvas are able to project a seamless extremely high resolution image over the entire face of the two buildings.”

Norbut Versus The World, a name we hope will become well known and loved here at Crash Raw Media. The newest member of the team, Norbut, has made himself at home, helped himself to the fridge and found his desk. A call had been logged with IT to setup a new user, unfortunately the initial setup was for one Robin Victor De World, we’re not sure who that is so we had to get them to start over. Eventually we got set up on the network, we had set some space aside for his picture collection but had no idea what we had gotten ourselves into. After adding an extra few terabytes to the server Norbut looked happy but we were dismayed when he announced that’s his listening collection copied over now for the big stuff.

The Victorian State Motorcycle Complex in Broadford was this year, once again, the scene of the Southern Classic Motorcycle Festival. The rolling hills of Broadford Victoria this time of year echo with the sounds of internal combustion poetry. The source of these dulcet tones are the Classic Motorbikes taking part in the Annual Southern Classic Motorcycle Festival, a gathering of motorcycle enthusiast, racers, collectors and spectators. More than just a chance to race this is an opportunity for everyone with an interest in two wheeled freedom to catch up and share a story and a beer. With participants traveling from every corner of Australia – Western Australia and Queensland – to join their HMRAV – Historic motorcycle Racing Association of Victoria – counterparts, this a truly national celebration of Classic Motorbikes.
